About Us

G&J Shuttleworth Ltd is a family business planted as and idea and has since grown from strength to strength, here is a little history about us so far!

First established in 1987 from a small workshop in Hornby, long before our premises in Morecambe, Lancashire was even on the radar.  Father John Shuttleworth, with the help of his wife Teresa set out on their journey as a small garage repairing farm vehicles and machinery, The word soon spread and reputation grew from strength to strength.

 John and Teresa's eldest son, Graham Shuttleworth joined his father in growing the workshop. His dream and life ambition was to see his Grandad Eric Shuttleworth's family name back on a wagon. Graham saw the potential in their duo , and strived towards his goals, both men working day and night to push the business to the next level while raising a young family. After much deliberation, and with the mechanical knowledge of both father and son, they invested in their first wagon, so began the birth of G&J Shuttleworth ltd. They soon took a gamble and moved into the current premises at White Lund, Morecambe. With Graham being the driving force behind the scenes, and John running the workshop, as well as both jumping into the hot seat behind the wheel, they were in a position to begin growing their team of office staff, mechanics and drivers; they rapidly became one of the biggest dairy haulers in the UK and maintain that position. 

Both directors still take their opportunity to hit the tarmac and drive between busy schedules, their family motto; "Lead from the front" encapsulates their beliefs and encourages the enthusiasm of all our staff.

To this day the company has kept strong values, with each employee becoming an extension of the Shuttleworth family. We endeavour to keep our roots at the heart of the company, a team is only as strong as the individuals that build it.
